What Is an E-Invoice?
- An E-Invoice is a system where every invoice must be validated through the LHDN (Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia) system
- Only after receiving LHDN approval and a QR code can the invoice be issued to customers
Verification Mechanism
- Each invoice contains a QR code
- Customers can scan the QR code
- To verify the authenticity of the invoice directly
Implementation Timeline (Phased Rollout)
- Companies with annual revenue above RM100 million
- Must implement E-Invoice starting 1 August 2024
- Companies with annual revenue between RM25 million and RM100 million
- Must implement E-Invoice starting 1 January 2025
- Full nationwide implementation for all companies
- Effective 1 July 2025
