【1/2】Sophisticated Investor - High Net Worth Individual (HNWI)
Basic Definition
- According to the Securities Commission (SC), there are three categories of Sophisticated Investors
- One of them is individual investors, known as High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI)
Asset Criteria (any one of the following)
- Personal net assets exceeding RM3 million
- The value of the primary residence must not exceed RM1 million
- Joint assets with spouse or children exceeding RM3 million
Income Criteria (any one of the following)
- Personal annual income exceeding RM300,000
- Household annual income exceeding RM400,000
Investment Criteria (any one of the following)
- Personal or household investments in the capital market exceeding RM1 million
⚠️ Note: Meeting any one of the above criteria qualifies an individual as a Sophisticated Investor.
